How To Audition Workshop was a Hit!

Hello - Thank you to everyone who came to the workshop this past Saturday! We had a good turn out of a variety of actors, these auditions are going to be great this year. Lots of good advice was shared. The top tips, or at least the ones repeated the most often were:

-do a monologue from a character that you might actually play. (No one wants to see Chip Caldwell do Angel from RENT! )

-write the last line of your monologue on the sheet music you give the accompanist so that he/she has a cue that you are getting ready to sing.

-Slate after you are on stage in position, not while you are walking across the stage to get to your spot.

-Wear colors that are flattering to you, regardless of how casual or dressy you choose to be that day.

If anyone has any questions between now and the Unified Auditions, please email mtaunifiedauditions@gmail.com and we will get you an answer.

All registration forms are avaialbe on the MTA website, www.metrolinatheatre.org.

Don't forget the deadlines, this Friday, June 26th, for drop off at ImaginOn and July 3rd for the folks who are mailing theirs in. After that, you will be considered a walk up and have to provide 25 copies of your registration sheet, resume and headshot. If you get it in before the deadline, we will do it for you!

See you on July 18th!
